There are over 11 million people in the US and 240 million in the world today suffering from hemorrhoids. Many wake up to this extreme pain in there rectal area and simply wonder what can hurt so badly? They soon find out just what are hemorrhoids. The medical definition is pads of tissue in and around the anal area. There also known as swollen veins in the anal canal. Veins can also swell inside the anal canal; this is known as internal hemorrhoids. Some people have had both forms of hemorrhoids at the same time.
Hemorrhoids are relatively common with over 11 million people in the United States suffering from the discomfort of hemorrhoids. Worldwide there are approximately 240 million suffering from hemorrhoids. Overall, approximately 90% of the population will experience either internal or external hemorrhoids at some point in their life.
Usually people only begin to find out about hemorrhoids when they start to cause pain, and by then it’s too late. Hemorrhoids can last for years and can intensify over time if not handled correctly. Also, they will affect at least 90% of people at least once, making the chances very high of a person to get affected by hemorrhoids. Because of this reason, it is important to know how to treat and hopefully prevent hemorrhoids from becoming swollen and painful so that a person can limit their effect.
Symptoms of Hemorrhoids
When finding out what are hemorrhoids, it’s best to know what the symptoms include to effectively treat this painful problem. Some of the symptoms for both internal and external hemorrhoids are bleeding during bowl movements. If you have internal hemorrhoids you’ll see blood on your stool or in the water. If it’s external you’ll see blood in the stool and on the toilet paper after you wipe. Another common symptom for both internal and external is itching. Also you’ll experience rectal pain, especially when wiping the area after using the bathroom.
Another common symptom associated with hemorrhoids is itching internally or externally around the rectal area. Hemorrhoids, external in specific, are sensitive to touch and the itching and pain can become annoying and intense within a short amount of time. Knowing the symptoms and treatment for hemorrhoids is the key to alleviating either type of hemorrhoid pain.
What Causes Hemorrhoids?
The exact cause of hemorrhoids is still unknown.  Many physicians believe that hemorrhoids are primarily caused by a lack of fiber.  This can be helped by adding fiber so that stools can be softened, thereby lessening strain.  Another common belief is that straining at stool can cause hemorrhoids, as can sitting in one position for a long period of time. It’s likely that there is more than one reason why hemorrhoids become irritated.
In conclusion, learning about the symptoms and treatments available will increase awareness and minimize the stress often associated with having an unfamiliar pain and discomfort in the anal area.
If you have hemorrhoids you should look at the various types of hemorrhoid cures as soon as possible. The faster you treat hemorrhoids, the easier it usually is to treat them. Two examples of commonly used hemorrhoid cures are Venapro and H Miracle.

Depression is one of the strongest human emotions. If you leave this emotion untreated, those suffering from it severly could be lead to something more serious.

Everybody feels unhappy at times. That is normal. But clinical depression is something much more than that.It is a disease.  But it is treatable.

I would like to offer some advice and tips that I have gained from my experience as a therapist in San Diego.

So when is depression clinical depression?

First off, the person may feel as if they are hopelessly sad.  Where a person feels everything is pointless.  Or life is not worth living. Which could lead to feelings or thoughts of suicide.

This usual lasts for two weeks or more.  When you have depression that lasts that long, you are moving into the clinical depression state.

And when you get to that point, you need to see a counselor.Don’t leave this condition untreated if you find yourself at that point.Believe me, from my experience as a depression counselor I know.

So once you do hit that point, you need to do several things. Because sometimes imbalances in your body or chemistry in your brain can cause depression, you may need to treat it medically. You would use antidrepessant drugs to treat it.

Of course as a counselor, I prefer to treat it through depression counseling.  A counselor can help a person get to grips with the root of their depression.

They can also look into using another form of therapy called cognitive behavior therapy which addresses how you thinkg.  The goal being to question your negative thoughts and turn them positive.

A counselor is also good in helping you use relaxation techniques.  If the depression is caused by stress, using relaxation will help combat that form of stress.

Most of all a depression counselor will be the most effective person to find out what is causing the depression.

They are good in finding out if there was something that happened recently that may cause this.  They can find out if it is caused by something that happened in the past.Or they can look to see if it is something that is caused by your body.Whether there was some physiological change.

Depression is a treatable condition. But when you don’t know what caused it, you will not be able to treat it.This is why finding a good counselor or therapist will help a lot.

In our modern times, the auto is an essential part of life just like food and shelter.  And with our current economy, most people are keeping their cars longer.

Well when this happens and your car gets older, there are some things about your car’s maintenance you are going to have to become aware of.  I have learned them from owning a San Diego Smog Check shop

One of those things is when you have to go and get a smog test for your car. Until your car hits seven years old, most people don’t even think about it.

But be warned, if you do fail the smog check, what was supposed to be a small $50 smog check suddenly turns into a huge auto repair bill.

When you have to have your car pass the smog check so you can renew the registration, follow these bits of advice to ensure your car passes the smog check.

So before you visit a smog test San Diego only center follow these tips.

First, make every effort to ensure your vehicle is running right.  If you feel the vehicle is not running right, immediately take it to a auto repair shop and have them find out what is wrong. Then have it fixed before your smog test.

Second, an easy but necessary tip, take a drive.Remeber when you are trying to pass the smog check, you vehicle’s burning of the fuel needs to be efficient and produce as little smog as possible. When you don’t take the time to warm up the car, these causes the car not to have the correct combustion.  If that happens, you stand a chance of failing.  So just drive it for 10-15 miles and it will be running optimally when you take it in.

Third, try to use fuel additives.  You do this whenever you fill your car up with gas.You just put it into the gas tank.  What this does is it helps lowers emmission levels by cleaning your car’s intake and exhaust paths. This gives the fuel and air the ability to flow freely.

Fourth, have your tires inflated to the proper pressure.  This little tip will help your vehicle drive with greater stability and accuracy during the smog test. This greatlly improves the emmission’s overall output because it helps the engine maintain a steady load.

Finallly, change your oil.  If your engine oil needs to be changed and is contaminated, this could very well cause you to fail your smog test. Contaminated oils are high in hydrocarbons and that could cause the failed test.

Follow these simple tips and you will surely pass your smog test with flying colors.  Take it from my experience running a San Diego auto repair service shop.

Rarely does the ionic air purifier industry escape criticism. “No scientific peer review exists” has been a frequent criticism posted on influenza, air quality and indoor pollution blogs.

Mr. J ohn Moore, a researcher at Cornell University (New York), may surprise adherents of the peer review system.

He says:

• “a lust for profit has led to too many journals,…all too easy to find…poor-quality work”

• “not everything in the peer-reviewed literature is correct. Indeed, some of it is downright bad science”

• “the peer review system…it’s the least-bad system that can be devised”.

Lay persons, warns Mr. Moore, must never treat every scientific peer review as the “gold standard” as “even reviewed literature can be cherry-picked to support any argument.” It is enlightening that “professional scientists…know that scientific truth evolves on the basis of a mounting consensus, not through an isolated paper that adopts a maverick position, even if it has been peer-reviewed.”

These nuggets of wisdom from an “insider” like Mr. Moore is of great value to all industries, including the ionic air purifier industry, that have fallen short on the burden of proof.

Nothing short of the gold standard demands critics of the ionic air purifier. So do the overseeing organisations. How do we know? We just wrote to them. The US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) responded thus:

“NIOSH is not aware of any peer-reviewed scientific studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of ion generators/ionic air purifiers against viruses. NIOSH does not have any studies planned to evaluate these devices nor do we have a policy on their use.”

But it was encouraging that the NIOSH has not pronounced final judgment as they also said:

“NIOSH provides support for investigator initiated research. Should someone want to conduct such studies they may apply for funding by mechanisms available and described under “Funding Opportunities” at: http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/oep/. Proposals are funded annually based on availability of funds, relevance of the proposed work to the NIOSH mission, and the quality of the science proposed.”

At our Ezine article (accessible via The Ionic Air Purifier Blog Ezine widget), we have reproduced the NIOSH’s exacting parameters of a scientific peer review.

It is definitely not a question of funding. It is not outright rejection by the governing bodies. Why then isn’t there any scientific peer review of the ionic air purifier after all these decades? It would be great to hear from an insider of the ionic air purifier industry.

It is our view that with the advancements in ionic air purifier technologies, manufacturers should tap on the prestige of official funding. It may take just one high profile and successful scientific peer review to grab the headlines? The ideal situation would be Mr. Moore’s “mounting consensus” of peer reviews in authenticating the safety, efficacy and effectiveness of the ionic air purifier.

Ionic Air Purifier – Until Scientific Reviews Abound, What Can We Do?

For the time being, users hunting for the ideal ionic air purifier can look to our Ionic Air Purifier Review – 4 Key Factors Model.

Encouragingly, we now know that a scientific peer review that is acceptable by any authority must cover the 2 safety aspects in our 4 Key Factors Model.

For NIOSH said: “…a scientifically valid study would need to be designed to test whether ion generators are effective in killing viruses to the extent that a hazard no longer remains, and that such technology does not by itself generate new hazards of its own, e.g., ozone or oxidized by-products. The design of such a study would be challenging.”

No, the builder doesn’t take huge rolls of foil up to your roof.  Aluminum roofing is lightweight, environmentally friendly, holds in heat well and the cheaper than slate or copper roofing.  Aluminum is still the second most abundant metal on Earth, so manufacturing costs are low.  Aluminum roofing is flexible and adjustments to it can be easily made on the job site.  It is also easier to install than many other kinds of roofing systems, which saves you some money and time.  Its average lifespan is 50 years, although there is still an aluminum roof going strong on the Chief Secretary’s office in Sydney, Australia.  It was built in 1880. Sadly, the Sydney roofer who did that building has long since retired.

Going Green

With every report about the environment that comes out, it has never been more important to go green.  Aluminum roofing is recyclable, and often made from recycled aluminum.  It doesn’t release any toxins into the air, and any water that drips off of it isn’t polluted.

You can go green with aluminum roofing in another way.  It not only comes in different colors, but can be painted over.

Calming Roof Rage

It’s a hard world out there for commercial roofing, but some have it tougher than others.  Some roofs have to deal with acid rain, salt water from nearby coasts, or heavy rainfall.  Some roofs can’t handle the pressure and corrode, grow mold or just plain leak.  Aluminum roofing can handle the constant stress of aggressive weather conditions.  As well as being mold-resistant, which was mentioned earlier (you were paying attention, weren’t you?), aluminum roofing doesn’t rust as easily as other roofing materials, such as asphalt shingles.

Steel roofing and other kinds of metal roofing may be cheaper, but they do not have the strength and lifespan of aluminum roofing.  Paying for a more expensive roof now should save you costs on replacing and maintaining the roof years down the line.  It is not recommended to try and replace the roof yourself unless you have roofing experience.  Yes, you can buy aluminum roofing without having to hire a roofer, but even the best roofing materials might as well be straw if they aren’t installed properly.  Check and see if you can get a bank loan.  You will need a detailed estimate from your roofer to show the bank.  Also check your local tax laws – you might be able to get a tax break for a major home renovation such as getting a new roof.

Ever wondered how to make the best use of your cherished photographs in your home? Photography has also been affected by the advances in technology. Now, using photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop and Picasa, you can digitally add effects that can instantly turn your photos into gorgeous works of art.

Canvas artworks are classic in the interior design communityBecause of their elegant and attractive nature, they never go out of style. Commissioned classical artworks, however, can be very expensive.Photographs mounted on canvas are a great alternative to this. Photos on  canvas easily brighten up any living space and bring a burst of colour and life in to the room, and still give the same look and feel of a commissioned artwork.

With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can turn your own photographs into your own masterpieces. Let your creativity kick in as you play with Photoshop’s various filtering effects. You can render your photographs to look like traditional artworks. Other things you can do are adding textures to your photos, playing with your photos’ colours and saturation, have it distorted and even transform it into an abstract art.

Artistic Effects. Your photos can be made to look as if it has been painted in water colour or in oil paint. You can even convert them into a coloured pencil drawing and charcoal sketches. Most photo editing software allow you to play with these effects through various options such as brush strokes length and strength, the amount of light and shadows, and even paper brightness.

Distortion. Distortion effects include ‘diffuse glow’, ‘glass’ and ‘ocean ripple’. A fog-like effect is the result of the filter ‘diffuse glow’. You can edit the amount of graininess and glow to your preference. Glass effect gives your photos a look as if you’re looking at it through a glass panel or even through an ice block.Ocean ripple creates an ocean-like surface on your photograph.

Textures. Textures allow your photographs to look as if it had been printed into various textiles.Such textile includes craquelure, grain, mosaic tiles, patchwork, texturizer, and stained glass.

Colour. There are many options you can use to edit your photos’ colours. Play with your photos’ hue and saturation, render them as a classic black and white picture using the desaturate option, or transform them into pop art by using colour variations. You can even give you photos an antique feel by applying sepia tone.

Blurring. You can easily change the depth of field of your picture by playing with the various blurring and smudging tools on most photo editing software. Solid lines of your subject’s features can be softened through the use of different blur filters, such as ‘radial blur’, which gives a hazy circular blur on your photo and ‘motion blur’, which gives off movement effects.

By experimenting with various effects and filters, you can come up with an artwork worthy to be mounted on canvas and displayed for everyone to enjoy. Stretched canvas art prints are not only beautiful to decorate your walls with, but it can also serve as a wonderful and unique gift to your family and friends.

These days, people are now trying to live a ‘greener’ lifestyle as the concern for global warming spreads . Many people are now opting to eat more organic foods and try to make use of renewable energy sources. However, there are other things we can do to save the environment other than eating organic food Unknown to most people, even the way we choose to dress can leave a huge impact on the environment.

Clothing that is made from materials that are raised or grown without the use of chemicals in the form of pesticides - herbicides or other chemicals is known as organic clothing Its main material, cotton, is grown completely naturally in farms the same way cotton has been grown for hundreds of years before the advent of chemicals like pesticides began.

Though organic cotton has less environmental impact than conventional cotton, it costs more to produce.

Side-effects of conventional production that are avoided in organic growing methods include:

  • High levels of agrochemicals are used in the production of non-organic, conventional cotton.Conventional cotton accounts for nearly 25% of the insecticides and 10% of the pesticides used in the world, though is it grown on only 3% of the total cultivated area. The excessive usage of chemicals in conventional cotton made it rank fourth as the most heavily-fertilized crop.
  • The chemicals used in the processing of cotton pollute the air and surface waters. Farmers who are concerned for the environment try to avoid using harmful chemicals that they put into the soil. This will eventually affect vegetation and animal life through many years to come. These chemicals may also seep into natural fresh water deep underground and contaminate it. Instead of using synthetic fertilizers which messes up the soil’s PH balance, many farmers are returning to using natural composting. Pesticides can throw off the food chain and affect larger animals, so organic farmers introduce beneficial insects and predators, as well as setting up insect traps to have a specific area for insect control.
  • Chemicals found in the textile may irritate skinSince the production of organic clothing involves no chemicals, it causes fewer irritants, making it the perfect textile for infants’ delicate skin and people who are prone to allergies. It can also give off a pleasant smell and is believed to reduce respiratory problems.

Organic cotton clothing is much more expensive than non-organic cotton clothing but the price is definitely worth it, and it features heavily in the world of ethical fashion. These type of clothing wear better and are much durable than conventional cotton and is often more breathable than synthetic materials.

Organic cotton has unique properties that set it apart from synthetic cottons found on most major retailers. The colour brown, for instance, darkens slightly during the first three washings. Since organic cotton is not stripped of its natural wax by chemicals, most weaves have a unique smoothness and weight which makes the fabric particularly flattering. Organic cotton can be dyed using natural dyes as well. Aside from being eco-friendly and beneficial to health, organic clothing is a beautiful and stylish material.
